Shed Your Skin: A Forrest Yoga Retreat with Claire Mace and friends Friday 29th December 2017 – Monday 1st January 2018.

Arrival from 4pm Friday, departures after lunch on Monday. There is plenty of parking and address is: Trigonos, Plas Baladeulyn, Nantlle, Caernarfon Wales LL54 6BW. We can help arrange lift/taxi shares from Bangor station.

What would New Year’s Eve feel like if it were alcohol-free, TV-free and firework-free? This healing retreat features daily Forrest Yoga sessions with experienced teacher Claire Mace to help you connect deeply to your body and its wisdom, to release old patterns and bring in fresh energy. Step out of your usual environment, relax deeply and explore your inner landscape.

Give yourself the gift of a visit to Trigonos retreat centre, nestled amid a stunning landscape of mountains and lakes in the Nantlle valley of Snowdonia. The vegetarian food is high quality and delicious, with many of the vegetables grown on site. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

The end of the year is a good time to pause, go inward, and look at what you want to let go: the skin you want to shed and the masks you want to put down. Often we fear endings. But if you observe nature, we are part of an eternal cycle of Life – Death – Life. Whilst love, light and life can feel easier to celebrate, we can also celebrate and honour ending, finishing and letting go.

Your skin is your largest ‘organ of perception’, and its upper layers constantly renew themselves. It is also your physical boundary between the inside world and all that is outside of you. What is your relationship to your skin? How do you negotiate your boundaries with people and situations around you?

As well as long yoga sessions, the retreat includes workshops with local healers, hedgewitches and wise women who are steeped in the beauty of this part of North Wales, which will explore themes of renewal and nourishment. You will also have free time to walk in the stunning local landscape (weather permitting) or to simply to rest.

On New Year’s Eve we will co-create our own ceremony of transition and transformation, to see out the old year and see in the New Year with meditations, storytelling, songs and pampering skin rituals. There will be healthy teas and some very special non-alcoholic elixirs to drink.

This option is for a residential place in a shared twin room with shared bathroom (three nights, all meals from dinner on Friday to lunch on Sunday).

There are a limited number of single rooms available at a supplement (£50 for non-ensuite, £100 ensuite).

Non-yoga partners sharing a room with you are welcome.  Their meals and accommodation will be billed at £325 (get in contact if you’d like to arrange this).
